rumored schedule
Halloween Sale: October 28–November 1
Autumn Sale: November 26–December 3
Winter Sale: December 19–January 2
:D SALE!!! WOOOOT!
Why not just ditch the whole plethora of sales thing and go for a year-long sale every year :P
Pretty much is that already. Between all the online stores something is always on sale and the year end sales aren't even great anymore, same prices you can often pick up at some point in the year.

Sadly it has become true.....really remember those early holiday sales, always had something worthwhile and good price you didnt often get. Guess I am just getting old:)
I think I'm going to use the upcoming sales to finally buy Polaris Sector.

Good choice. O0
Same here, I wait until games are on sale, think and say heck I still don't play the other games I have, don't buy. I still play Panzer Korps, love it, glad I don't play on Steam, the hours would make me sick.
I have wish lists at multiple places and keep an eye on the price. I buy when it hits my price point. About the only thing I buy upon release is new Order of Battle scenarios - and they have been close to bug free.
Has the Steam sale begun?
The Steam Store website is barely working for me, while a lot of games on my wishlist are now discounted.

May God have mercy on our
souls bank accounts!
Engage loin moisteners. I think I will pickup A Plague Tale, even though I did not like Vampyr (developer Focus Interactive).
I'm willing to give them another chance.
Steam is still down for me :(
I will buy lots once Steam is back up. :pullhair:
Someone DDOS'ing Steam?

But no sign of a sale on their front page.

Dammit it's not on sale! Oh well, I don't need a new game badly enough to pay £30. Maybe the Christmas sale then.
Wow, Steam is so incredibly broken it can't even load up the friend list! :o

No idea if Matrix sale will be the same as last year, but if so....they sold it for $10 during the holiday sale....if true, only a few weeks away:)

For me right now, Steam is on and off.
One minute it's working the other it's not and after another minute back up again (and so forth...).
Good tip Grim, thanks!

I find this site more useful at times than Steam...lists all the sales, not only from steam but bunch of places...you can filter to be only steam if you like.

Didn't get a lot this round, the biggest being War of Rights. Well, I suppose the biggest thing for one game would be filling out some missing slots in my IL-2 BoX roster (paid more for those total than WoR).
So far nothing that really interests me is properly discounted.
Well, there's always the Christmas/Winter sale.

I picked up Attack of the Earthlings for 50% off.
If you are in a mood for an excellent Halloween adventure - Gabriel Knight Sins of the Fathers is less than $5 on gog. One of the best and creepiest adventure games ever done.
I'm kind of in that "Uhh...do I really want THAT?"
I'm willing to wait for the Winter Sale. However, I do plan on getting something on this one, its just a matter of "what."
I ended up purchasing Thea 2 : The Shattering .
Seems that since I already own Thea 1, I could purchase the bundle (Thea 1&2) with an additional 20% discount (on top of the existing discount for Thea 2).
I'm actually eying X4 again.
Is it in a stable, playable and fun state already?
Because from reading the reviews on Steam it seems to be pretty damn broken.
I had a great time with x4, they have added a ton of content since release. There's a big 3.0 update with the Split faction as dlc due q1 2020, so if you get it say in the Christmas sale, q1 2020 would be the perfect time to jump in.
Steam is now having a 24 hour sale as part of Singles' Day, the Chinese Black Friday:
https://www.pcgamer.com/steam-is-having-a-singles-day-sale/
^I picked up Divinity: Original Sin 2 in honor of our Chinese overlords. ~25 dollah.
Toying with getting A Plague Tale as well, also for ~25 dollah.
Few of the sales I have seen this year appeal to me. As the DLC and sometimes game prices on Steam have risen, the 15% to 30% sales do not trip my "buy" reflex.
I agree - I will never pay 60 dollars for a game. Ever.
50% off is usually my price point for a new (to me) game or DLC.
A lot of sales come in between 30-45% off, which is awfully tempting most of the time.
A discount of 25-40% can be enough to induce me to buy, depending on just how badly I want it. As much as possible, though, I hold out for the 50% (or more) markdowns.
The lack of deep daily discounts at the Steam Holiday Sale the last year or two has curtailed my buying volumes.
I typically won't get anything ever these days at less than a 50% mark-off, unless it's already an inexpensive game. Of course, I've got more games than I have gaming time, so it's easier for me to resist the insta-buy instinct. It'd just add to the list of games I wish I had more time to play!
With a huge library of unplayed games (dozens) I cannot even be tempted by things any more unless the dollar amount is small, the discount huge or the interest unresistable. Not much hits any of those buttons any more, much less two of the three.
