Got some work to do on a p&p D&D campaign coming up. Could be some Warlock or keep going on my HOI2 Soviet campaign.
Really not sure here... WoT and then I dont know... i look through my list every weekend and then decide I haven't enough time to play something properly
I could do with being single, sorry dear ;)
Will be out of town, so doubt if any gaming will go down. However, before hitting the trail, will ponder what to get from Matrix before the sale ends.
Hmmm...
Have fun folks, and stay safe!
The Wife is going to Boston (to the Patriots playoff game of all things) so I am a single dad again this weekend, which actually means more gaming than usual since the MiniGusses are tweens now. So...Wolfenstein - The New Colossus (growing to be one of my favorites after only 4 hours), maybe some Wings of Prey, perhaps some IL2 BoS, The Saboteur and hopefully some Men of War2: Assault Squad.
Will take a stab at connecting / configuring the Thrustmaster I got for Christmas in an effort to play IL-2 BOS.
I can't overstate the challenge this will be for a 58-year old who has played nothing but Tiller / Grigsby-type strategy games for the past 15 years (and very few sims before that).
Now that I have a new gpu its so hard to not buy all the games. But not much gaming for me, boyfriend's birrthday and I'm catering his party. Pakoras with tamarind chutney, kimchi pancakes, fish sauce chicken wings. Punjabi kaali dal, Bengali potatoes, pickled cauliflower, rotis. Finished off with laddus and choc chip cookies
Laddus?
Yes, laddus. As in 'laddus' go over there and try some of it. :peace: I'll be 'pirating' about the Deadfire in Pillars 2 where large booty is a good thing and a little dingy won't get you very far at all. Have a good one Grogs!

Holy shit that sounds so good. :dreamer:
If I get a a chance, I really want to check out the Operation Trecbuchet mode for ArmA III. I'm a bit of a Halo nerd.

Indeed!!! I'll be playing the usual World of Warships and maybe some Battles in North Africa 1941 and working on a solitaire way to play PQ-17. I'll be the allies (with the USS Washington with the RN Home Fleet) and the Germans will have some crude (but effective!) routines PLUS some unpredictable results when they are sufficiently tracked by recon...which is not as odd as it may seem since (for example) PQ-17 scattered on the erroneous assessment that the Tirpitz was at sea when, in fact, she was already back in Trondheim.
Warframe! - as always
Distant Worlds - probs. Although it does feel like it's playing itself and I'm just observing. Every now and again it asks my permission before building some ships, just to keep me quiet.

We'll be right over..... O0

I'm up to level 18 in Pillars 2 and about to go confront Eothas again.
Laddus are this sweet thing in Indian cuisine. In this version, it's coarse semolina cooked with clarified butter, dark brown sugar called jaggery, raisins, fresh coconut and cashews, then rolled into balls.
Hmm...interesting. I thought you were typing 'lettuce' with a US southern accent.
I type with a Canadian accent. A? A! AA? But not when I'm drinking cause then I slurrrr myy wordss. Get it, A?

Does she not know, how cold it is going to be tomorrow?!!!!
Oh she knows, but you see it doesn't matter. It's set up by her company...she will only be outside, on the field, at half time. The rest of the time she will be living the high life in the corporate suite, eating lobster, drinking wine, having cake.
Not that I'm bitter
:/

Ahh, now that can be nice. I haven't been to a Pats game since the 80's, when you did NOT bring woman or children there (like Buffalo is now). I'd just as soon, sit on comfy couch and watch on big screen TV. Way better seats!
She had two tickets but didn't know until yesterday. Allegedly.
But I am happy to be home with the Minigusses. They requested to get some cheeseburgers, watch Die Hard 3 and put together the new Lego set that just came ('68 Mustang, part of their new Speed Champions series of sets).
So it is shaping up to be a solid Saturday with the family. I'll sneak up to my study once everyone passes out to game a bit. Things are much simpler without The Wife to foil my plans :)
My plans- Continue to watch Doctor Who classic marathon encore. - Right now currently in the Jon Pertwee years. (3rd Doctor).
I also got my anniversary coupon from Matrix/Slitherine - 10th years -35%Off. So I am trying to decide what to get at least before the end of the sale.
I'm leaning towards Aggressors:Rome and maybe the Persia DLC for Field of Glory II. (per the sale and then...just use the coupon later) ;)

I have some mixed views on Aggressors... good in some ways, bad in others. That said the developer's seem to be continuing to update the game - I just noticed that another update has just come out. Also there are some very interesting mods for it. (Personally I'm hoping someone will do a pre-Conquistador Meso-American mod).
The Persia DLC for FoG2 is, in my view, a very solid buy. :bd: I had a lot of fun playing the Assyrian campaign (even though I prefer the dynamic campaign system found in Pike and Shot Campaigns and Sengoku Jidai).
I was a good boy for my readers.
I played the Pearl Harbor scenario and posted an AAR. I've played the next scenario and made the screenshots.
I wrote up another installment of the WW1 Museum in Kansas City and put it on my blog.
But I ended up not playing all that much. But being retired, every day is Saturday!
I've split my time just about evenly between working on my Operation El Dorado Canyon scenario for CMANO and World of Warcraft. I did think of doing a quick hop from Seattle down to Portland in Prepar3d today but couldn't work up the energy to set up all my flight sim hardware. I also watched a lot of Stargate SG-1 on Amazon Prime on my second monitor while I was gaming or staring at my screen thinking about what I wanted to play.
I managed an, 'Overwhelming Victory' in TOAW 4's Operation Dragoon. I don't know what constitutes 'overwhelming' vs 'underwhelming' or just plain old regular 'whelming' but I'll take it. O0
I just wish I could take a screenie of game triumph but the only shot I can get is of the whole theater map.
I'm rapidly becoming a fan of this little gem of a game that's much better than the original I played way back when most of you were still using training wheels. The AI is very good and the system can play anything from Div/Corp level scenarios down to Company/Battalion/Battery level fights. It's got it's quirks, but definitely a Wargamer's wargame. :bd:
I still use training wheels.
I folded - I got Aggressors: Ancient Rome and Rise of Persia DLC for Field of Glory I (I am still holding the coupon for further developments. ^-^ )
Aggressors isn't a bad game at all. I'm really impressed with it. I'm still learning the ropes.

Hmm I knew I should have bought it when it was on sale.
Perhaps I'm not remembering correctly, but I got TOAW 3 when it came out and it seemed to me that the vast majority of scenarios were multiplayer only. Is that right? And I assume that's been corrected for TOAW 4?
Not that I'm averse to some sexy PBEM action, I just like to play against the AI too.
TOAW 4 Lists many scenarios as being 'PBEM' because they are quite large but they usually can be played against the AI without difficulty. Only a few I've seen specifically list a scenario as 'No AI Available' for one side or another. The AI does handle the monster scenarios of which there are many, not as well as the smaller battles with a few divisions or corps per side. And some scenarios with very large naval forces slow down considerably when the ships start going toe to toe, especially during the AI Turn.
The AI is a very capable opponent in this game, as good or better than in the Decisive Campaigns series in my opinion. However, that's if the scenario is designed well by the author in the beginning and here some are a little unbalanced one way or another and some have some oddities included such as H.M.S. Rodney's 16in guns having a range of only one hex while other BB's guns range to 8 hexes, that sort of thing.
Cool, I think it might be my next purchase then. Thanks very much, Sir Slash!
Quite welcome Good Sir.
