Doesn't hurt to email their support address and ask for a discount. Tell them what you own and provide screenshots of any receipts that you still have.

One of the dev's posted on the simhq WOFF forum:

"The discount will vary slightly depending on when you bought WOFF3 and what else you bought at that time, best to contact support with your WOFF3 order."

Good to know - thanks!

Just an FYI that one of the developer posted that they are working on a World War 2 sim:

"Well I am sure many have guessed we are using our WOFFUE engine/systems to develop a WW2 Combat Flight sim.
Wings Over The Reich - or as we call it in-house WOTR.
This will follow the exact same lines as OFF/WOFF/WOFFUE in that it will be a phased release.

The intention is that it will eventually encompass the whole of WW2 and will be centered in Europe.
From the Battle of France, Battle of Britain to the massive day and night raids over Germany and German held territories.

The intention is that players will be able to play either side in fighter or bomber squadrons and will have and will build on many of the SP features of WOFFUE.
Aircraft models are all new high poly hi res textured aircraft with even more realistic DM than what is currently in WOFFUE

The world will be alive as will the theater change over time until very little of the main European cities is left.... again much like WOFFUE that has the frontlines moving and devastated tracts of land building up over time."

I would buy VR for a WWII version of WOFF. Wow, awesome news!

Toonces

Man, this is really good news!

WOFF is probably the best flight sim I've played since Falcon 4.  There is certainly a void for the single player WW2 flight sim genre.

I don't want to get all excited, but if these guys can pull off something close to WOFF in WW2 it will be pretty epic.  I'm talking about the immersive, dynamic campaign of course.

I just wonder how long they can go on requiring CFS engine versus somehow getting away from that...thinking over time might be harder and harder for some to find, especially newer players.

Toonces

True.  Does GOG every buy up MS games?  I imagine not, but that would be the best case.

Staggerwing

It might make more sense for the devs to try and license the use of the CFS3 game engine. I doubt MS would ever actually sell it but they might figure it was better to get a few bucks on each copy of WOFF rather than nothing at all from all the copies of CFS3 still floating around for sale on places like eBay.

Just an FYI that a new update/patch was just released this week for WOFF UE that adds a new flyable plane.

"The aircraft will be a Fokker D.VI with the Oberursel UR-II 110 hp engine."

Plus they are also working on an addon that will include upgrading the scenery. Screenshots are in the thread.

Speaking of...how is Wings Over the Reich coming along? Heard they recently added the Spitfire...is it worth getting yet?

I have both of them and fly them pretty regular.  The planes and the terrain look great, but you'll notice the engines age in the effects, especially when comparing to Il2 BOX.  The AI is a lot of fun to dogfight against and is more dynamic and human like than iL2 BOX.  The controls setup is below modern standards.  If il2 had this type of AI, i'd probably uninstall and banish these games away forever, but they don't so I keep coming back to the WOFF/WOTR series periodically.

WallysWorld

I haven't bought WOTR yet and probably won't until I replace my 9 year old computer later this fall. I heard it's quite a bit more taxing on your system WOFF UE.

Bought WOTR on day one and yes it's amazing how good it looks! It runs great with the exception that sometimes in big dogfights the game would stutter somewhat and my rig will run DCS on high settings with no problems. I had to uninstall the game after a couple months though. I could not get a grip on the flight model for some strange reason.  I was constantly going into stalls without even trying even on the easiest flight model in-game. I queried about it in the tech section of the forum and only a couple other people seem to have had that problem. Most said that they had a hard time even getting their plane to stall. I've tried both of my sticks and even used the stick software to play with dead zones and the like but no success.

Even in WOFF UE I can handle the flight model with only the occasional stall and never had this problem in all the other FSims like DCS etc. Its' a shame because the AI really is fantastic. Maybe someday I will give the game another shot.
