Title: It's friday you crybabies
Post by: Anguille on May 19, 2017, 02:29:29 AM

Going to play mostly Pandora: First Contact...lost my first game already and start a new game. I like the mood and the style. I also starded a new campaign of Imperium Galactica II yesterday as the Shinarii on my ultrabook so i may invest some time in that.

I'm going to tryout Mass Effect Andromeda.  Found a 50% off deal and couldn't resist (have 100 unplayed/unfinished games but felt I needed something new ...).

Steel Division Normandy is my backup plan.

Steel Division all weekend for me. Got access to review code for my article on Tuesday so going to be working through some solo stuff and then perhaps some MP with some of the other Divisions I haven't tried out yet.

And then maybe some RimWorld as I just bought that.

^Cool!
I'll most likely end up playing Endless Space 2. I also might play Oxygen Not Included. On the table, there's a possibility of Tiny Epic Kingdoms.

Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare on the 360 with my lady friend when we are not digging new allotments and flower beds in the garden.

Week long vacation starts at the end of work today!  \m/

Most of my "free" time will be filled with adding 70sq. ft. to my wife's vegetable garden, moving 5 cu. yards of dirt for said garden, 1 cu yard of river stone for around the pool, painting the front door, rebuilding the front walk and adding more flower garden space there. Plus various other small tasks needed to get the back yard ready to summer fun.

I'll be playing DC1: Warsaw to Paris with Jason as I'm way behind on the play and my AAR.
Maybe some Steel Division.
Picked up Dirt Rally for cheap last weekend so need to dig out my wheel and pedals and take that for a spin.

Just put Cobra: Patton's 1944 Summer Offensive in France on the table for some old timey goodness. I've got the SPI flat pack edition. Very short rules and low counter density. Should be fun.

Got to be Ghost Recon:Wildlands - 247 hours in game so far!

Also, I'll be starting a playthrough of the Star Wars:Rebellion boardgame. It's not a single player game and I'm going to know where the rebel base is, but I can avoid going for the jugular to get some game mechanics down pat.

Nothing else is on the menu.

'HuzzahCon' - wish I thought of that.

Continue to soil my drawers in Alien - Isolation. Great game but I may have to take a break soon just to relax a bit. I'm about half way through.

I tried to fire up Sins of a Solar Empire - Rebellion for a bit last night but could not get it started. Uninstalled and reinstalled and still wouldn't work. Any advice?

Also may fire up Call of Duty - Infinite Warfare.

This weekend is really up in the air for me. I've bought a lot of early access/indie games this week, including some very impressive VR ones. Check out Sairento VR...you're some kind of a cyborg ninja assassin and this game really manages to make you feel like one.  Very awesome.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/555880/Sairento_VR/ (http://store.steampowered.com/app/555880/Sairento_VR/)

Anyway, I'll probably devote some time to those. I'm also playing around again with Hellion, Endless Space 2 and I also caught the ARMA 3 bug...again...well, I guess in hindsight, I never really lost that one. Oh, and Prey. I've started that one, but really have barely touched it.

• Finish putting together, compiling, and uploading Turn 2 of my schizo-AAR of CHURCHILL

• Play Turn 5 vs Barth in our mp of Decisive Campaigns: Blitzkrieg (if I get a chance)

• Mess around more in skirmishing SD44, or some friendly mp if I can arrange it.

• Can it be possible that I somehow finally manage to play Scourge of War: Waterloo multiplayer again at last...?!?!!!1?

• Uh, I dunno, something something. Honestly, finishing the video AAR will take a lot of time as always. ...recording Turn 3 of Churchill? I'm at the point where I need to buckle down as FDR if I'm going to have any chance of pulling out a win against Winston and "Uncle Joe" constantly leeching off me, and I'm itching to see if I can adjust in time.  :knuppel2: It doesn't help that the Axis is putting up a lot better defense than one might expect on average. ...uh, minor spoilers for Turn 2 on the way...

Trying to fall back in love with Attila: Total War using the Radious Mod as the Visigoths but I'm just not getting that old special feeling I used to get from this one. I think we've both 'moved-on'.  :'(   So, started a new DC: Case Blue campaign as consolation-- she NEVER disappoints. And respects me in the morning.

^Try Aksum (Ethiopia).

I started the Aksum campaign but they're way off south by themselves and after wandering around a couple of turns and not finding anybody, I switched to the Goths. I know Hymar or whoever is across the Red Sea to the east are your closest targets but Aksum doesn't even have a port at the beginning much less a navy and I didn't want to wait for some action to start. But I may go back to them at some point. They seem interesting.

The weather looks like it will be decent this weekend, so putting up the pool, building a retaining wall flower bed and other assorted yard duties. Probably get in a bike ride with my daughter. As far as gaming i'll continue a Panzer Battles PBEM. After my major fail as the Germans in France, just took to many armor casualties but i did KIA 2000 frenchmen but armor losses were 2 to 1 in his favor. His used the Somua's tank groups effectively. We have moved on to the desert with me being the Brits and he's Rommel, after 9 turns out of 16 the Brits are doing well delaying Rommel with minimal forces and he hasn't hit my MLR yet. I seem to have a thing for open world survival, crafting games .Picked up another EA title  "Subsistance", its early but the base of the game is there, it's a one man show so i'm sure progress will be slow but from what i've seen updates are regular.

Also after the yard duties are done i'll knock back some cold ones out on the deck and put the headphone's on and pay tribute to Chris Cornell's music career with some solo stuff and Audioslave and Soundgarden.

'bout to head downstairs and run fatigue for the "Six Days in October" campaign...day after the historical battle coming up.

Have discovered the joys of Manual Defensive Fire in Tiller's Napoleonic series and am really enjoying a run at Saalfeld with Doug.

Finishing up the SEVENTH Gallipoli battle with Boggit...big, big, big pounding for my Turks.

And all the Borderlands with my son...200+ hours and counting.

I've been reading up on attila and Company and the new basic theory of barbarian hordes is:
1) the barbarians got organized
2) Improved their farming and built some social strata like kings and overkings
3) Beat up each other and the Romans for hundreds of years
4) Achieved the Middle ages
5) And got to Middle Ages 2
6) wondered about the next version

Although the influx of less capable players, who've appeared since the 'Get a Bismarck' campaign started a few days ago, hasn't helped the teams lately.  :knuppel2:

I was watching this last night, but it was a bit too raw and I ended up turning it off.  But basically this is the show he did right before he went back to the hotel and killed himself.  The audio isn't that good, but, well, I provide for your interest.

Ok, well I wasn't planning on it, but I think Jarhead has convinced me to find and install the Unsung mod for ARMA 3 and give that a go this evening.

Maybe a bit of some version of Scourge of War, and some Mount and Blade to round things out.

After a blue million years away from a console, I've found myself with some time on a PS4, so I've been ridin the rails on the latest Call of Duty title and working my way backwards through their offerings.  Kinda cheesed that we'll have spaceflight and robots but still be toting around M4s, to be honest.

Still goofy fun, though.

South of Waterloo, Tuna and I and a group of four other guys last night pushed down to some French place or other to surround and punch around a significant number of Brit-and-allied divisions. Considering some of us in that group only started playing Scourge of War (and its background system of "Take Command") a few weeks ago, and that the rest of us only started playing at divisional level a few months ago -- we did reasonably well! Whoever was playing Bonaparte's nephew kicked so much allied butt that he effectively scored our final group score by himself.  O0

(That wasn't me, but I did okay considering I got to the fight very late having taken my division in a deep flanking maneuver across the whole map and having gotten my commander and/or the camera stuck for a good five minutes inside a building.  ::) :buck2: Note to self, when playing head-in-the-saddle, don't get near buildings in this game. Anyway, I scored I think around 715 points, with a high water mark of around 860. Bonaparte scored north of 2500! -- but he marched directly down the map to start whaling on the Anglish.)

Finished AGEOD Thirty Years War Bohemian Revolt campaign as Catholics. Lost by just 10 points!!!!  Need to play this again. This is pretty much my favourite AGEOD game at this point.  Relatively small army count, simple logistics (but very little available supply across the map except for major cities) makes for appropriate campaigning cycles.  It's more of a game of logistics on how to feed large armies and not being caught campaigning during the winter.

ECW may be a similar experience but smaller scope.
