New Kickstarter Campaign for a Columbia Games classic. Julius Caesar will be adapted to computer by Avalon Digital if the Campaign is successful. Looks nice.

this campaign puzzles me....

i did back richard iii because was brand new engine and offered early access, no regrets.  but are they going to kickstart every variation of this, if so, why?

- using established engine
- mentions already in beta after working on for a year
- campaign goal is only $5000....after being in beta already, they really wouldn't release it because of this amount?
- no real awards for pledging, no beta, and really no extras
- no major new features announced unless i missed it

just seems to me a likely small discount of basically pre ordering....

There is a discount, but also the initial funding will allow for more scenarios to become built. This is a stretch goal and looks like space for space to announce another once reached.

Plus, the opportunity to grab that physical mat is nice. (I know the other playmats (R3, Hammer) are gorgeous!)

Yes a small discount.  To get the extra scenarios would require $20,000, not sure they will make that.  And if they aren't successful, they aren't going to release the game as is?  I suspect they would.
