Is anyone here playing the game?
It came out yesterday-ish and I ended up pre-purchasing it (so I could avoid using the Epic store and use UPlay instead) but have yet to even try it out.

Disclaimer: I couldn't find an existing thread about this game using the forum's search function, if such exists, it would be best to merge this thread into it.

I preordered for the free game.

Played the beta and enjoyed it enough to want to buy.

Very early game for me right now so no significant insights yet.
Insert witty comment here.

Dammit Carl!

I certainly will play this in the future, but I'm holding off for them to implement some tweaks and patches first.

I plan on playing it this weekend. Looking forward to it.  Apparently there is already a huge day 1 patch.

I pre-ordered via GreenManGaming, but don't remember getting a free game.

I kind of liked The Division but like alot of Ubisofts latest games, I started to find it somewhat repetitive.

I will keep one eye open for this sequel though...

No, because Amazon fucked up.  :pullhair:

Maybe next week some time...

I'm enjoying it, but nothing ground breaking. Near universal praise for it though across YouTube and review sites.

I agree with JH. Been playing it most of the afternoon and been enjoying it for what it is. Its not ARMA, its not an original Ghost Recon game, but its not trying to be either. Most of the systems seem to be refinements to the 1st game. I do like the new strong point feature but I do wish that the enemy AI would try to retake them and that they wheren't just a take them and keep them forever. Overall it will replace The Division 1 as my current go to game for when I want to turn my head off and just mindlessly kill things.
PanzersEast: Have to think to myself.... will I play the first one by the Winter Sale?  Probably not, then I should remove Dragonfall
PanzersEast: but that is thinking too logically.... and Steam Sales are about ignoring Logic

Same here. Fun game, but very familiar if you played D1 in its latest set of features.
I am already convinced I liked the snowy NY more than sunny DC as a setting, but indeed DC does feel more alive.
The scavenging civs are a fun feature. The player can help them gather stuff and escort them back to base. They sort of react to your pressence.

No Dark Zone done yet, but here the true end game should be, so too early to tell.

I must say though: either I am getting old or this game is brutal in SP! The main missions are hard as nails.

If I remember my time with Division 1 correctly, was this the game where it seemed like the enemy absorbed a ton of shots before dying?  If so, any improvement in that area?  I just remember being very frustrated how much ammo/shots it took to kill one thing.

It's not a problem that needs improvement, it's a feature. The game is more an rpg than a shooter. If you can't see the game in that light and can't get over the bullet sponge thing then the game is not for you.

good to know, thanks

It took me awhile to get over that hump too. I still don't "love" it, but viewing it in the rpg light makes the system acceptable. It's a pretty good looter type game and very well polished. If you're on the fence, maybe wait until it goes on sale...it will...

thanks, that is likely what i'll do, but it will need to be real cheap.  i just couldn't get over it enough in the last version.  i realize some of these games have this stuff, but for some reason division seemed over the top compared to others.  could be i just stunk at it:)
