I really enjoy seeing photos that combine old pictures with new pictures, giving a perspective of what things look like today versus what they looked like throughout (camera-ready) history.

I stumbled on a YouTube channel that does exactly this, but with Germany from World War II. Here's a few examples.

Excellent stuff. No voice overs, just calm music, with labels explaining what you're looking at.
