We're not taking him back..... send him to Afghanistan! >:(
LOL! There are some days I absolutely love this country. :P
There was also a petition on there to build a Death Star. The gub'mint said it would cost $850,000,000,000,000,000 to build, then followed that with "We're working hard to reduce the deficit, not expand it."
::)
Edit: Oh holy hell, That news story on Bieber said there were 104,700 signatures. One day later, it's at almost 200,000. I find it hilarious that this "State Department spokeswoman" (Spokeswoman? Really, NOW?) has to "check and see what the visa implications would be for anybody who is found of possibly violating the law" - of course she wouldn't know, why would she, working as a spokesperson for the State Department? It's not rocket science - if someone commits a serious enough crime, that can get their green card revoked and their ass deported. I hate Bieber almost as much as Manziel.

This site is the e-collection of several deaths, accidental and otherwise, associated with the Grand Canyon. There is a book called
Death in Grand Canyon that I own, which will shed light on exactly how deadly the Grand Canyon can be. The data on this site is largely derived from the research put into said book. Not just with falls, either.
QuoteOver 770 deaths have occurred in Grand Canyon from the first river exploration by John Wesley Powell and his crew of 1869 to tourists falling off the rim today.

I didn't turn into stone when I looked at her but.... I do feel a sudden stiffening occurring. :-" Better try it again with a mirror this time.

No other good place to drop this, but I didn't want to start a new thread for it.
The divorced couple they're talking to were both former students of mine at WPU. He had the class in the Spring, and she took it over the summer. They got married in between.

They're also both pretty active in the local roller derby scene here, and I have friends whose kids were/are on the team coached by the guy, and other friends who are married to some of her old teammates from the Carolina Rollergirls. Somehow, I have never been to a roller derby event.

One of my daughter's friends was a very competitive ice skater when she was young. She's now about 29, and along the way she converted her ice skating skills into a spot on a roller derby team or something in NYC. I was surprised to hear that roller derby was still a thing.
When I did fieldwork, one of the seasonal techs revealed she played on a derby team.. I asked her how she got into it. She told me there was a poster for tryouts at the tattoo parlour where she frequented....
