Title: There ain't no rest for the wicked FRIDAY doesn't grow on trees
Post by: MetalDog on July 05, 2019, 05:33:11 AM

There will be Civ IV BtS, lawn mowing, p&p D&D, and eating, this weekend.  If something else breaks out, you will be the first to know.

Was away most of this week so mowing, grocery shopping, and a shopping trip to Lubbock are in my plans but do plan to get my PBEM turns caught up and do some play testing on an upcoming JTS title. I did get to visit Wilson's Creek and Pea Ridge National Battlefields in m travels. So moving to me to actually get to stand on the ground where those battles occurred. Can't wait to go east and visit more of them.

Making the switch from AssCreed Odyssey (completed 52% of the main campaign!) back to AssCreed Origins because I only completed about 10% of that game. Also some Conan: Unconquered, Rome: Total War 2 3rd century AD Palmyra campaign and putting together teasers, preview and review for AN UPCOMING DELICIOUS RELEASE.

Gird your loins.

Battle Brothers.  Very much a "just 1 more mission" type of game.

A bit of an ancients itch at the moment so Legion Gold (on my tablet - probably still one of the best games I've got on Android) - playing the Conquest of Britain campaign, aiming to better Vespasian but knowing me might end up more like Caligula  :)  and Spartan / Gates of Troy on PC, not sure which campaign yet.

Previously (i.e. yesterday, the 4th and all that) had re-installed For Liberty! to try and reverse all that independence sillyness but haven't yet been able to get it working on W10, obviously some sore of anti-monarchist conspiracy by Microsoft  :)

I'll be checking-out the new 19th Anniversary Edition of The American Revolution Mod for ETW....

Wait, the what now? ETW couldn't be 19 years old. Does this date back to MTW1?

I think the original Shogun Total War came out in 2000.

Still grinding on projects around the house in order to sell it (really should have planned this better), but will spend gaming time via RS/RO2/RS2 and the IL-2 franchise.

See you on the Ostfront, or Vietnam, comrades!

Right then.  Quite a lot on the go at the moment.

Tonight is my weekly gaming group night, and we shall undoubtedly open with the fantastic Tower Unite.  There's no better way to warm up for a good gaming session.  There is always Minion Masters, my current favourite F2P game.  I am awesome at it!  I got Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice in the latest Humble monthly.  I've had a go but was not impressed.  However it was only just getting started so I might try some more later.

I'm back in one of my all-time favourite real time strategy games, Creeper World 3: Arc Eternal.  It's a war of attrition essentially, but it's ridiculously compelling and I love the freedom you have to try whatever the hell works to drive the creeper back.  Carrier Deck is never far away; it's a perfect "I'll just have a quick go on something" game.

Last but not least, I finally bought Arma 3 in the Steam summer sale.  I'm curious to see just how much gaming is available in this one!  I'll also evaluate it for multiplayer sessions.

Hellblade can be tough. I am still stuck on a sequence, about half way through, that I just cannot figure out. Have been stuck there for about 10 months :/

Been playing a lot of Stellaris lately.

Beyond that not sure what I'm feeling. Stranger Things S3 is taking up my evenings.

Actually I've just remembered that the idiots in my group couldn't even play Wildlands properly, so there's no way I'm playing Arma 3 with them.

That looks like a sweet mod.  Gonna have to re-install Sins of A Solar Empire Rebellion (i think I have Rebellion) and give this a whirl.

Oh it is. They did an incredible job. I can't wait to see what's next. If I had screenies I'd post them for you.
