I picked it up today, haven't spent any time with it yet.  I read that it's more manageable than your usual HPS/JTS affair, since the units are brigade-level and the terrain is split into zones instead of hexes.  It seems like there's emphasis on Napoleonic "combined arms" (i.e. properly utilizing your artillery and cavalry along with your infantry).  I don't have much more to say except that it looks very promising.

It makes no difference what men think of war, said the judge.  War endures.  As well ask men what they think of stone.  War was always here.  Before man was, war waited for him.  The ultimate trade awaiting its ultimate practitioner.  That is the way it was and will be.  That way and not some other way.

If they made nothing but WWII games, I'd be perfectly content.  Hypothetical matchups from alternate history 1980s, asymmetrical US-bashes-some-3rd world guerillas, or minor wars between Upper Bumblescum and outer Kaboomistan hold no appeal for me.

I guess it's sort of nice that the word "tactical" seems to refer to some kind of seriousness during your moments of mental clarity.

My impression is just based on the discussion on the Matrix forum and my own poking around in the UI for a few minutes:
