is the second map a very white looking france 40 AH?

The great Mr. Ellis has joined us!  Heya Ken.

Yes, you are correct, the map is indeed France 1940 from Avalon Hill.  Jim Dunnigan of AH/SPI fame was the designer per BGG.com.  I believe the map was white hexes and Fortress Europa had the beige colored ones, but I may be mistaken.

At any rate, our score is now:

Pinetree: 1
Ken Ellis : 1

This one should be an easy one for the group!

never played it but its gotta be vg vietnam?

sold plenty of em

but then again it could be korean war dittos on vg

and I have seen france 40 have nearly tan maps, almost green, and white and more or less cream will check the geek to see if all these flavors are depicted...nope only the stark white and the early pics  on the 4th page show a more cream colored type map

the last I had was sort of a green shaded map, it was a slip version I think, I may have a loose one laying round somewhere

now here is a rare map

its hard to read, and this is probably nearly impossible for anyone to identify

I bought this from dan blum.

it is on the geek, I now own the specific game pictured there!

this is the entire map!

Gary's is a vietnam game. Let me see if I can figure out which one.

...

Font & vegetation pattern seem to match w/ VG's Vietnam

...

Hey look, it's the same map snippet that's over on the 'Geek!

I can't make out the writing when zoomed in - too blurry.  I know that Melee and some other "pocket games" from the 80's had very simple maps like that.  This isn't one that I've ever played on though.

I found my copy of Fortress Europa and it has the tan/beige colored hexes.  I haven't had France 1940 for 25+ years so I honestly can't remember what color the "clear" hexes were.

hmmm.... the game on that tiny tiny map

was designed by neil zimmerer!

and it has a set up hex for a certain roman emperor....

but truly an impossible game I guess

THE IDES OF MARCH printed on one sheet of paper!

reminds me of the original blankity blank which will be posted next ALSO A MAYFAIR GAME!

now this game should be much easier, the first was to establish street cred....

this game published as a freebie, then in retail format is one of the funnest games and NEEDS TO BE REPRINTED as does swashbucker!

a tiny portion of the map should suffice, the room at the upper left corner is the TECH ROOM

y'all gotta start attaching bigger images!

host them at Photobucket or Flickr and link them here...

Here's one. Shouldn't be too hard for the connisseurs out there.
