OU Sooners Head Coach Bob Stoops is retiring. O/C Lincoln Riley to step up into the coveted Head Coach position. Holy crap!!! Is this April Fools Day???

I gotta tell you, no one here in Oklahoma saw this coming. It was as closely guarded a secret as the formula to Coke. Not so much as a whisper. And while we will hear more after Stoops addresses his team, he may not be retiring from football. Already there is Stoops to the Chicago Bears talk (he owns two homes in Chicago). And the new head coach, Lincoln Riley, may be a placeholder for a bigger name (although Riley was just extended recently). More to come I'm sure.

And not retiring for health reasons either. Seriously, I wonder if he just decided he needed a change of scenery? There has been no hint of any friction between Stoops and anyone at OU. Well, he should be addressing his team right about now. Your intrepid reporter on the scene will give updates as they come out!!!   :bd:

Wow.  This is pretty surprising, but I doubt he stays out of coaching for too long.
