I've been thinking about starting a Kerbal Campaign, but now I don't quite feel like it anymore...  :'(

A few of the deaths/accident cover-ups did only come out after the fall of the USSR.

But there was nothing related to many of those on the list & otherwise. 

Either the outside conclusions were somehow wrong on the rest of them, or they were such bad screw-ups that Soviet leadership completely scrubbed all records and made serious enough threats against potential leakers that the cover-up stuck.

Did some googling and found some related articles that poke rather large holes in some of the Judica-Cordiglia recordings. This was one of the better ones:

Nice link. 

Some extra info I haven't seen before.  Such as names of the pre-Gagarin cosmonauts supposedly lost.
