Talos was a ramjet and at the time had a great range.  The Terrier had about 30nm range, Tarter something like 10, but Talos could reach out to just over 100.
Long Beach got two Migs at 104nm, and one was a direct hit.  Warhead did not detonate.
May also have been the last beam riding missile.
