Illinois prepares for Zombie apocalypse officially

11      RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
12  HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that all 
13  Illinois residents are encouraged to participate in preparing 
14  for a Zombie Apocalypse, and have a plan that includes, signing 
15  up for local texts and weather alerts, developing emergency 
16  communications for the household, collecting significant 
17  documents and storing them in a safe place, and gathering 
18  emergency supplies; and be it further
 
19      RESOLVED, That all Illinois citizens are urged to follow 
20  and act on disaster preparedness guidelines of the Illinois 
21  Emergency Management Agency and Federal Emergency Management

2      RESOLVED, That we designate October 2017 as "Zombie 
3  Preparedness Month" in the State of Illinois, and urge all

6  emergency supplies that can last up to 72 hours.

To be fair:

1.) It's preparing for October, the month of Halloween;

2.) It's really talking about any general natural disaster, but using a Zombie Apocalypse to get some funny attention;

3.) Illinois does get some real natural disasters occasionally, mostly tornadoes. And October would be well into tornado season.

4.) It is in fact entirely possible to have something very much like a zombie apocalypse due to weird bugs and disease effects, where the affected people will act a lot like zombies. (Temporarily, until they die.) If I recall correctly, the Great Lakes nearby include some of those factors as risks!

5.) Mass rioting would resemble a "fast zombie" outbreak, and that state has Chicago, and one of our two main political parties (who happens to greatly influence Chicago) is encouraging people to riot without consequences.  ::) Damn skippy I'd be preparing for a "zombie" apocalypse. If people insist on acting like zombies, they'll have to put up with being treated like zombies while they're acting like zombies.
