A pretty bad situation - 6 officers shot, 1 killed and 1 critical. Police work is dangerous... :(

I'm not sure how it can be considered "Republican Control" without a Republican in the White House.

Lots of us sent sign up money for a new game called Dukes of Hell from some slicks with a NYC address. Took about a year for the diehards to admit there was no game, as I recall.

This the one?

Could be, but I never heard of anyone actually receiving anything at all from the company, much less ever playing a turn. This being pre-internet days, there were letters to Paper Mayhem and I think Flagship complaining that there was no game and that it was a scam. I know letters I sent to the company were never answered. If that's the same folks, they owe me a refund with twenty years interest  >:D

@MikeGER

Let's be clear. None of the perps - as is the case with almost all the terror attacks in Europe Charlie Hebdo, Nice, Bataclan, Orlando, 9/11, Manchester, London Bridge x2, Brussels Airport, and other incidents too numerous to mention - have absolutely nothing to do with any of certain sects within Islamic communities of Europe, nor indeed anywhere else in the world. To be clear, being a member of certain sects within the muslim community is definitely not a common denominator in terrorist attacks on predominately non-muslims in Europe and the rest of the world.

I'd just like to make the point that Islam is not a supremacist religion, and it does not encourage through the Shari'a for its members to persecute or kill non-muslims through jihad. Jihad is all about peaceful struggle with oneself. It is like a kind of Zen... peaceful and meditative. We won't be seeing any more terror attacks. I don't want to see any criticism of certain sects within the Islamic community for links to terror because that might be seen as Islamophobic, and we know that labels are important these days in any kind of balanced debate. So please don't have a phobia about Islam as we know that a phobia is an irrational fear, and there is no evidence that you should worry about it in a town near you.

Definition of phobia (Merriam Webster)

noun | pho·bia  |\ˈfō-bē-ə\
  :
  an exaggerated usually inexplicable and illogical fear of a particular object, class of objects, or situation

Wuppertal as it happens...but unclear yet whether terrorism - even though it is being unreasonably mentioned as a possibility :o

Impressive resume.  Totally false though.  Everyone knows there's no such thing as Santa.

Music, TV, Movies / decades Feeder Bracket - 1984 Final 4
« Last post by MetalDog on Today at 07:46:39 AM »
I apologize for taking so long to get this poll up.  Got busy and forgot, really.  That's fixed now.

We have straight chalk in the Final 4.  I'm sure it's happened before, but, I am not going back to look.  In any case, I think it will be an interesting Final.  I don't claim to know how it will turn out, only how I will vote.  Look forward to seeing how this goes.  Have at!
