I ran a game of WWII Wings of Glory at the FLGS tonight.  Had seven players show up to give it a try.  None had played before so things were a little chaotic in the air.

In the end, the Germans managed to eke out a win by default as the He-111 was the only plane left in the air, even though it was on fire and had missed its bomb drop by about half a map length.  Everyone else was a crater in the ground.  GOOD TIMES!!!!

The scenario was that 3 Bf-109E3s were escorting a He-111 as it tried to bomb the Humber armoured car plant.

Two Hurricanes from 303 Sqn joined two Spitfires from 610 Sqn in an attempt to stop the bomber.  We were going to house rule that, as the Hurricane crews were Polish, they weren't allowed to co-ordinate with the Spitfires but as there was pretty much no co-ordination happening in the game at all, that rule kind of fell by the wayside.

Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and want to play again, so that's a good sign.

Some random pics of the carnage.

Cool stuff! Those your planes SDR? How are the gimbal mounts made? I made some for my WWI planes with rare earth magnetic donuts and steel ball bearings. The balls are glued directly to the planes.

Yup, it's my minis.  I also used rare earth ball bearings and doughnut magnets.  I didn't want to snip off the pegs on the planes so I cut an altitude peg in half and glued the magnets to each half.  Doesn't work that well though.  Heavier minis tend to tip over.
