Have been really excited about this one.  It is now shipping.  The Commander series goes WWI...  But I usually wait until I can get Hexasim stuff from GMT.

But if anyone has this, would love to hear impressions

This is one of them rhetorical questions, innit?

This one is hot!!!

GMT had 240 copies and sold them out in less than a week...  Fortunately I managed to get a copy from GMT while they lasted...

Good news however, according to Hexasim rep on BGG, they are shipping more to GMT at end of this month.

Saw some good buzz from folks who played it at the GMT Warehouse Weekend last week.

The game only has French, US and German...so plenty of room for expansions; IMHO Austrians, Italians, Brits, Russians, Ottomans, and Serbs at least.

Sounds like Brits / Commonwealth expansion is up next.

Hexasim has been pretty good in pumping out new games in its Eagles of France series...1 every twelve months... much better than the glacial GMT pace... so crossing fingers that we see the first expansion in six to twelve months.

and best yet for me anyway....  the vassal module is due out any day. ;D

I'm interested to see how this one plays.   I need a good YouTube review.

I have 'Last Eagles - Ligny 1815' and it is a really good game system. The quality of Hexasim games is top-notch.

Great War Commander is back in stock at GMT if anyone is looking for a copy in North America.

I've played Great War Commander twice. I think it is a great game with well-organized rules and beautiful art.
