So close now but the end game is no slouch - because of yesterday's storm I had a good 3 hour stretch to prepare a series of armies and fleets for the final push on the final required province to win...Musashi. One more 3 hour stretch should secure my win and avoid another shamefrul dispray! Finally.

That's the stuff Gusimoto. I played with the Darthmod but never tried the Radious mod though the horde of new units included looked very tempting. Anything really special among them? And did he fix the naval battles? All I could ever get the AI to do was just sit still pointing their broadsides at me as my ships closed on them.

There are tons of new units but descriptions on them are non-existent since the game's online encyclopedia looks to be uneditable, which is a shame. In my more built up provinces I can have as many as 10 rows of recruitable units available...almost 100 units according to my new math.

This final push is going to be a bloodbath-there is no direct way to get to Musashi without taking 1-2 other provinces first. I wanted to avoid that but it looks to be unavoidable. Going to have to do this the hard way.

In my Darthmod campaign, I used agents to clear a path for my armies by bribing enemy Generals and killing their leaders, etc. It helped a lot. Don't know if Radious changed the agent effectiveness or not. Of course the down side was experienced enemy agents could do the same to me. It was a tough slog too but do-able.

I have some agents moving in but to be honest I've reached that point where going through each turn with tons of agents, armies, etc. is turning into a chore. I'm ready to wrap this campaign up after upwards of 200 or so turns. It's an awesome game but I got me some fatigue.

Either Homeworld: Remastered or Mad Max. To cleanse the palette you see. Then...TW: Charlemagne, probably as the Scandinavians!

Was not as painful as I expected...hopefully the next two provinces (Kai +Musashi) will take less time and work to capture. Then...victory.

If I can get in a solid gaming session tonight and resistance isn't too strong, victory may be mine :)

An important siege that I didn't get pictures of was my victory over 6-7 Shogunate stacks in the province immediately to the south (left of the screen). Smashing those armies allowed me to move on, it was very decisive.

Onward :)

in Rome 2 you could auto the battles and get a decent set of odds on the victory depending on your stance - do you get that in FotS?

In my FOTS campaign, I used the auto-resolve a lot because a number of the battles were larger than just the one or two-off stacks. In order to get all your troops counted in the battle you had to use it because, if I remember correctly, you can only control a maximum of 20 units at a time on the battle screen. The rest come on as the routed units leave. Still once you get Gatling Guns and if you have arty or naval support, you can generally whip more than your weight in enemies.

Yeah I have been auto resolving about half the battles...I still enjoy them though, especially with my teched up armies.

The province I took last night got taken back :/ ...still have to take three provinces unless I can get to Musashi in some alternative way. Played to a stalemate tonight after two hours.

Take a break Gus. The game knows you're coming. Wait and catch it off-guard on a slow weekend. I have many games I'm slowly sneaking up on. Shhhh... :uglystupid2:

One thing I've never cared for about the TW games is the arbitrary Victory Conditions--- Capture this province or that many provinces, or whatever. It's getting better now with the alternate Vic. Conditions but still feels very artificial. That's why in Rome 2, I'm going all out for a campaign win as the Germans but playing Rome just the way I want to without worrying about the win and I'm enjoying it more.

I hear you but this is for bragging rights over this damned game!

Plus the victory conditions here make some sense...hold the capital of all Japan (which I have) but also the province of Musashi...not sure why Musashi is a goal...

Me either. I never could understand why some places are chosen for "Must Have " status. For whatever it's worth, your campaign sounds a lot like the one I played.... A host of armies around the capital and it's environ. It did take some time to slough through.

I still have some fight left in me before calling it a draw.
