Don't know how many 'Verse fans or browncoats we have around here, but I just stumbled on this and it looks pretty damn awesome:

Looks like it's not due out until later this Fall. Man I'd LOVE to do a review of this baby!
Here's a video overview of it from GenCon 2013:

I think our local game shop is sick of me stopping in and checking to see if perhaps it's in, but they just hadn't gotten the chance to call me yet. I was able to show the extra ship from GTM. It teases me.
does it force you to play the turns out of order and then stop halfway through the game?
Ba-dum-tssss
Lol

The expansion sets have already been canceled.
But it will live on forever at the hands of stalwart Cardboard Browncoats.
Excellent quote beneath your avatar, Mrs D.

QuoteWe each have a ship (I threatened bloody murder should anyone dream of taking the Serenity player card before me) and choose a captain from a variety of characters plucked from the series. Each character brings with them certain skills and/or benefits. Such as Nadi from the Heart of Gold episode who gets to hire crew for free. Presumably because she fellates them in lieu of payment.
Wow, really? LOL
QuoteAt first I wasn't convinced about using a deck but it's quick, it's simple and there's no fucking about looking up results on tables that you'd need with a dice based option.
You Brits and your way with words...wish we could use those here. :-X
We almost picked this up in our local 'Forbidden Planet' store last week, since both Mrs.B and I are big Firefly fans. Problem is getting her off WoW long enough to play it.

Is that some kind of randy Brit slang? ;)
What, WoW?
World of Warcraft. MMPORPG thingie. ;)
I know, I know...I was trying to turn it into something depraved. 8)
That's not like you B_C.
I'm sure we could think of something without too much effort though ;)
One word of warning for anyone looking to get this : You'd better have a big table. You've got the 6 panel foldout board. Each player has a board, and will need room for active jobs, crew cards, money, and to tuck in contact cards under the top to represent which once you're in with.
And then there are the decks of cards. 5 contact decks for missions and 5 supply decks from different places to hire crew and buy gear. And you need access to both the draw and discard piles, so you need more space. Multiple stacks of money in three denominations. The Aim to Misbehave deck. Two different travel decks with discard piles. The scenario card, and the Reaper Cutter and Alliance Cruiser cards. It takes up an entire table.
It looks like it has a huge footprint from the videos people have posted. You have the game, AB?

Yes indeed. It is a fun game, but know that it's basically a Pick Up and Deliver game. There is certainly adventure involved, but you're running a Firefly-class ship and transporting stuff around for the most part. It can also drag a bit, but you can easily shorten game length by just deciding that the first to hit the 2nd or even 1st mark on a Scenario card wins the game.
As for the footprint, my gaming table is about 4.5 feet by almost 3 feet. There isn't room for more than 2 player boards on that table once everything else is set up. :o
just took a pic for you guys at Toy Fair in London - it was on the Battlefront Minatures stand - its massive, 4 guys round it and a huge area needed - looks great

Holy BejesusJangles!
And the board looked so small! Must've been out of necessity! :o
plus various supporting chair seats and upturned boxes
I almost bought this last week with my Amazon cards, but I figured I'd get more mileage out of a couple of VPG solitaire games instead of a massive multiplayer table-devourer. Still on my radar, but goodness knows when I'd ever take the plunge with it.

It looks like something I'd also enjoy, but big long multi-player games just aren't gonna get much playtime, if any. Something like
Firefly would probably never hit the table in any serious manner. :(
I probably need to get out and attempt to find a gaming group somewhere in my area, for such as this.
