I've been wanting a Tiger for the last couple of years and I've hummed and I've haaaa'd over what one to get time and time again. In the end, I decided on an early version and Tamiya because I use Tamiya paints...and I don't like having to "convert" when I get another manufacturer

Nice one, JD.

Many years ago, I had the Tamiya 1/24 scale Tiger I, Panther and Jagd Panther. The Tiger I was an excellent model with a lot of interior detail, and metal torsion bar suspension. They all had individual track links, although in plastic, not metal. Somewhere, I think I have some photo's.

Unfortunately, they all suffered from the ravages of time, especially during the move from one home to another.

Yeah - it looks like a nicely detailed kit.

I'll open it up tonight or tomorrow and get some pics up of the sprues

Note the double Balkenkreuzen on the back of the turret as mentioned on the site.

Thanks Stagger

Here's the kit unboxed

Nice touch....a bit of material for hoses

Lots of wheels - 2 sprues

Decals

Nice rubber tracks and nice touch with how they've moulded them to take account of the drop between the front wheel and first road wheel.
I'm not a fan of those "build your own kits" tracks and NO - I'm not interested in spending £10 on metal tracks  :knuppel2:

The instructions

Colour & decal schemes - personally I like the bland grey

And there you go. As with ALL my models, I'm really looking forward to building this - but it'll have it's place in my ever growing backlog of model kits  :smitten:

I'm embarrassed to say (as a wargamer, on a wargamer's forum and as a casual history buff) that I did not know what Balkenkreuz was and had to look it up.

Oh - the shame!  :-[
