Air traffic employee arrested for possession of pipe bomb

To be fair, this is almost a non-topic.

The employee received it from his roommate, who said he had originally built it to use in a dispute with a neighbor. Having changed his mind about this, he gave it to the employee of Charlotte-Douglas' air traffic control.

So to be clear, he didn't have it on his person at the airport when he (and his roommate) were arrested. It's entirely possible that he just wanted to find a way to quietly dispose of the thing rather than have his roommate arrested for making it (and intending to use it next door!)

I don't really expect a news article to reveal that (and maybe not even have access to that info), but the situation is curious.
