GameTalk: POW’s

POW’s

Is managing POW’s an interesting and / or realistic game mechanic?

In Close Combat, surrendered enemy soldiers followed your nearest unit around the map. In Combat Mission, you could give POW a “move” order.

Any examples from boardgames?

And should you be able to execute POW’s without penalty?

If there is a rule for units to surrender rather than be eliminated, then POWs should
count toward victory points. The execution of POWs would only have consequences if war crimes were also part of the rules. There could also be rules allowing for POWs to attempt to escape. Interesting ideas, but for my point of view, this just adds more
    clutter.
