Movement

There’s area, point-to-point, hexes, and even squares. What type of map and movement systems works best for what type of game? Give us your thoughts and examples.

    Even though the point systems are very practical, and even more realistic than hex systems sometimes, I just can’t wrap my head around the maneuver visualization of jumping from point to point. It is too much like warping through folds in space!

    I want to see counters/armies moving hex by hex, down a road, even if you have to restrict all hex movement to just roads. Just keep the point rules, but make hexes and force armies to travel up and down the roads.
